INTRODUCTION
Sometimes we need to cancel the jobs which we triggered either in SAP BW or in SAP R/3. We have different options to cancel that job. But in this article we will discuss how to cancel the job directly from the server when we are not able to cancel the job in SM37.
HOW TO CANCEL JOB DIRECTLY FROM SERVER IN SAP BW & SAP R/3
Steps:
Follow the following simple steps.
Step: 1
Go to SM37transaction code and select the active job which need to be cancel.
Step:2
Double click on the job and then you will get below screen.
Double click on the job and then you will get below screen.
Step: 3
Click on Job Details
Step: 4
Then you will get server details(in case of multiple server) with row.
Step:5
Go to SM51, select the server and make double click on it.
Step: 6
Select the row no.(as mentioned in step 4) .
Step: 7
Go to Process tab and click on Cancel with core and then refresh the screen.
The basic difference between the options is as below.
Cancel with Core
Cancels the work process, A core file is created, which you can view in transaction ST11.
Cancel with core = LOG FILES are created and the job is killed.
Cancel without Core
Cancels a work process and a core file is not created.
Cancel without core =NO LOG FILES are created and the job is killed.
Step:8
Then that row get eliminated from that screen and when you check it again in SM37 ,the job get Cancelled.![6-1.png]()
